- Before the Flight
- Documents: don’t forget to Keep your important documents like passport, visa, university invitation letter, travel insurance, and flight tickets. Also keep photocopies and digital scans as backups. Remember to check it 2 or 3 times.
- Packing: while packing your luggage keep in mind that the place you’re heading to is of cold temperament, so include warm clothing, essential medicines with prescriptions, and personal items you may need immediately. Stay within your airline’s luggage budget to avoid extra charges.
- (Departure) At the Airport
- Students are advised to reach the airport at least 4-5 hours before your departure for international check-in (flights), security, and immigration procedures, it might take some time due to so many people boarding at the same time.

(Even after this flight, there will be some-one staying from our side in Russia to look over students). Our representatives will assist students with check-in, luggage, and all the immigration processes they needed, ensuring everything is completed smoothly and safely.
- Pre-weigh your luggage to avoid last-minute issues and extra charges.
- Stay hydrated and eat light before boarding. To avoid getting sick. But don’t forget to eat something.
- During the Flight
- Wear comfortable clothes appropriate for a long journey.
- Keep your important items nearby—passport, boarding pass, pen, and university documents—in your hand luggage. And don’t forget to check it again, while waiting at the airport.
- Use the flight time to rest, stay hydrated, or revise basic Russian phrases to ease communication upon arrival.
- On Arrival in Russia
- At the time of arrival, students may be asked about their universities and purpose of staying—answer politely and confidently and keep yourself calm.
- Collect luggage carefully and verify the tags before exiting.
- EMU Support on Arrival: Our representatives continue to assist students after landing. They will help with luggage, also guide students through airport procedures, arrange official (university’s) transportation, and escort them until they reach their university’s hostels safely.
- Exchange a small amount of currency at the airport at arriving time if required; larger exchanges can be made in the city at better rates.
- Stress-Free mindset
- Nervousness is common, but there is no need of panicking—every student goes through this stage.
- Translation apps and university support will help manage language barriers.
- Stay in touch with family using international SIM cards or Wi-Fi.
