Russia – August 15, 2025 – n leading Russian universities our Indian students marked India’s 79th Independence Day with lively celebrations filled with devotion, happiness, unity and joy. The vibrant celebrations made them feel as if they were back in India, keeping the essence of home alive, despite being thousands of miles away.”

The celebrations took place at:

1.Ural State Medical University (Yekaterinburg)
2. Volgograd State Medical University (Volgograd)
3. Siberian State Medical University (Tomsk)
4. Sevastopol State University (Sevastopol)
5. Kirov State Medical University (Kirov)

Each campus began the day with flag hoisting and the national anthem, followed by cultural programs performing dances, songs, exhibitions, art competitions, rangoli competitions and Indian food stalls, just like how they use to celebrate in India. Russian faculty and students joined in with curiosity, wants to know more about India’s heritage and beautiful culture which was inspired by the unity of its student and community in abroad. The celebrations became more than just a reminder of home—they were a bridge between cultures.

Russian faculty and international students joined in the celebration, that makes our cultural bonds more deeper and learned more about India’s journey to freedom. As the day ended, the celebrations stood as a powerful reminder that patriotism knows no borders and the spirit of India thrives far from home.
