ABOUT Omsk State Medical University

Omsk State Medical University is one of the oldest universities of Siberia; it was founded in 1920 as the Medical Faculty of the Siberian Institute student the sinary Medicine and Zoology which enrolled 186 students. In 1921, West Siberian State Medical Institute was established; and Prof. N.K. IVANOV-EMIN was assigned as the first rector. In 1924, it was renamed into Omsk State Medical Institute.

In autumn 1931, the Maternity and Child Protection Faculty was established which later was reorganized into the Pediatric Faculty. The Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty was founded in 1938 (now it is the Preventive Medicine Faculty). In 1957, he was admitted to the Dentistry Faculty. The fifth faculty established was the Faculty of Pharmacy which started to enroll students in 2002. In 1994, the Institute was granted the status of a State Medical Academy. On the 5th of December 2011, Omsk Medical College was affiliated with Omsk State Medical Academy. In 2015, the Academy was assigned the status of a University.

Today the University is one of the largest medical universities in Siberia. OSMU is constantly ranked among the 100 best universities in Russia.

EDUCATION

For decades the University has trained more than 35 thousand doctors. Its graduates work in all regions of Russia, as well as in CIS and non-CIS countries.

The training of specialists is carried out in the following fields: General Medicine, Pediatrics, Preventive Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy, including the programs of pre-university and postgraduate education. OSMU College trains specialists in General Medicine, Nursing, Laboratory Diagnostics, and Pharmacy.

STEP 1: Apply Online

 

After going through all the details of the university, choose the course. A student can fill all the details and send us the documents via email. list of the documents required for enrolling in the university

STEP 2: Get the Invitation Letter 

 

After the evolution of the documents, the student will be notified about rejection and acceptance of the application. If a student’s application form is accepted then he/she will be notified after within 1-2 working days. Also, the student will be issued the admission confirmation within the same period.

 

STEP 3: Pay Enrolment Expenses

After receiving the confirmation letter, a student can pay the fees through net banking or other payment methods.

 

STEP 4: Apply For the Visa

 

After receiving the invitation letter, students need to apply for the Visa as soon as possible because the Visa process could take time. Documents required for the visa:

International passport (With minimum validity of 2 years)

Duly attested certificates of high school.

Medical certificates confirming that the student doesn’t possess HIV/Aids and other STDs.

 

STEP 5: Arrival in Russia

 

The student has to pay fees for the first year before arriving at Russia. Also, a student is supposed to send us the flight details. So, that our executive can receive and guide a student after arrival. In case, a student doesn’t inform us about the arrival then he/she could be deported back to the home country by the authorities of Immigration.

 

STEP 6: Commencement of Classes

 

Every student must bring a complete of original documents and payment receipts for the first year. A student needs to register himself/herself at the college after 3 days of arriving in the country. After the completion of the registration process and admission process, a student will be allowed to attend the classes. Make sure to apply to the University before the application deadline. Once you get admission to the University you will most likely depart from your home country in the 1st week of September itself.

  1. The candidate must be older than 17 years at the time of admission or end of the year to be eligible for studying MBBS abroad.

 

  1. To meet the academic eligibility criteria, medical aspirants need to obtain at least 50% marks in the higher secondary board exam conducted by a recognizable education board such as CBSE, ICSE, or State board.

 

  1. The main subjects in the 12th standard should be Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for medical aspirants.
