Navratri is one of India’s most impressive and most spiritually important festivals, featuring dedication, dance and flowers. This year, Indian students of Ural State Medical University of Medicine are excited. The event brought students from different classes of society to create a living atmosphere filled with a strong sense of cultural traditions, joys and community. Far from home, students find comfort in the festival celebrations, which reminds them of their roots and also share the beauty of Indian heritage with international friends.

Evening has entered tradition

The celebration began when students transformed campus with elegant ornaments. Rangoli patterns decorated the floor, wonderful light brightened the room, and festive decorations gave the place a wonderful sparkle. Many participants wore traditional sarees and lehengas clothing from Kurta and Dotis, reflecting the rich variety of Indian regional styles. The scene featured both the pride of preserving cultural heritage and the excitement of celebrations of important festivals abroad. For many, it was a matter of not only observing traditions, but also carrying a house next to their hearts.

Garba occupies a central location

The main events in the evening were Garba. The students gathered in circles and went elegantly to the rhythmic blows of traditional music. Laughter and greetings filled the air as experienced dancers led the beginners and taught Garba’s stage with elegant movements. For a first-year student, it was the warm and memorable knowledge of the university community, but the seniors remained alive and exited with the pace. The dance floor is the heart of the night, symbolizing happiness, unity and the holiday of life itself.

The taste of home

Without food the Indian festival was not complete, and Navratri nights became special with many holiday and holiday candies. Houses and general dishes such as samosas, kheer, Jalebis and Nam-Keen have brought nostalgic smiles to many faces. For the student, each bite brings memories of a family vacation at home, adding a deeper layer of comfort and communication. Food distribution quickly became a joyous experience, reinforcing links between them, when students sat together and appreciated similarly visible fragrances of home.

Celebrations of different cultures

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the night was the participation of international classmates. Their curiosity about the festival was transformed into a sincere joy when they joined the dance circle, tried out Indian snacks and captured the living spirit of the line. Many were fascinated by the cultural meaning of the ritual and the pleasant mood that came with it. Their participation not only adds to the heat of the evening, but also highlights the inclusive, multicultural environment of universities, where traditions from around the world are respected and attracting attention.

Night to remember

For students at the Ural State Medical University, the celebration of this greeting was more than a simple cultural gathering. It was a powerful reminder of the identity, belonging and power of unity in diversity. The event brought together laughter, tradition, dance and friendship on an unforgettable night. Witnessing this year’s enthusiasm and participation, students are planning more cultural events in the future to make the university a home far from home where tradition is respected and joy is separated outside the border.
